I N T E R P A G E (TM) Network Services Inc. ============================================================================ Service Update, Weds, November 22, 1995 [] FaxUp WWW (sm) Service Enhancements [] InFax/OutFax (sm) Service Enhancements -------------------------------------- Hello! We have completed a number of upgrades to our fax services. [] FaxUp WWW Service: Customers who wish to receive, view, print, forward, organize, or store their faxes on the World Wide Web may now utilize our "FaxUp WWW" (sm) service as an easy and time-saving method to integrate their fax applications with the World Wide Web and Internet E-Mail. These new service enhancements greatly expand upon the utility and versatility of Interpage's FaxUp WWW, creating a powerful new tool for Internet-based commerce. Our recent enhancements to Interpage's FaxUp WWW service include: -"Thumbnail" Fax outlines: See a complete and graphic list of each page of a given inbound fax. You may "click" on an "blue-outlined" fax and instantly view that page. (After viewing it, the outline becomes purple, indicating that the fax has already been seen). Additionally, you may perform a variety of other functions, such as re-arranging the order in which the fax pages appear (the "move" command), attach it to another fax or set of faxes (the "copy" command), or delete a given page from a multi-paged fax. - ReFax Notes: FaxUp WWW customers may now append notes and messages to any uploaded fax or individual page from a multi-paged fax. This is particularly useful if you receive a multi-paged fax, yet need to re-transmit a single page with a brief explanation of its contents. You may also opt to add a cover sheet along with the idividual fax. - Standard fax pages: Previously, fax images were somewhat larger than the actual fax which was sent. Our upgrades to the FaxUp WWW service have corrected this, and currently, FaxUp WWW faxes very closely approximate their original "hard copy" sizes. In addition, FaxUp customers who only use our Fax -> e-mail gateway or FaxUp WWW customers who send out faxes as E-Mail from our server will notice that the faxes which they receive and decode locally also closely approxmiate actual fax sizes. In addition to providing a greater degree and flexibility and versatility to existing FaxUp WWW accounts, the ability to store, edit, and forward faxes to either a given fax machine(s) and/or e-mail address(es) creates a powerful Internet-based tool for faxing. With FaxUp WWW, it is no longer necessary to spend time and effort creating cover sheets and informational packets covering your products or services. Instead, Interpage's FaxUp WWW service allows you to upload all your desired literature, brochures, price lists, maps, directions, and any other information to our server, and update your information at will. When a customer makes an inquiry and requests further information by fax, you will be able to instantly and professionally respond to the inquiring party by connecting to our WWW server, selecting the faxes which the prospective customer is interested in, appending any annotations or comments as needed, and then instantly sending the fax out (with your own, customized cover sheet AND "Station ID"/Page Header information if you chose). As a result both your and your prospects benefit: you have saved the time of preparing this information manually, and the prospective customer receives their requested information in a professional and timely manner. Additionally, FaxUp WWW service can operate in conjunction with EPOS services, which give you unsurpassed control of your faxes from any Touch Tone phone. The combination of EPOS Fax and FaxUp WWW creates a powerful and new tool by which Interpage customers can provide immediate and professional customer and client response from any location worldwide, with little to no investment in equipment or installation charges. Please contact "info@interpage.net" for additional information regarding FaxUp WWW services and/or EPOS Fax. ---------- [] InFax/OutFax Enhancements: We have added a few new features to our InFax and OutFax e-mail -> fax gateway services. - Success/Failure confirmations now contain destination telephone number information in the Subject: line, making it easier to view the status of faxes from most mailers. It is no longer necessary to open or read the actual confirmation message to discover the success or failure of a given fax. - Customized cover sheets are now available: Current OutFax/InFax customers may request that their name be placed on their cover sheets instead of the current "Interpage" title. Other than the name substitution, there is no difference between a customized sheet and the standard "Interpage" cover sheet. (Interpage continues to offer customers the option to use their own cover sheets for an additional one-time set up fee.) - As noted in a previous update, InFax and OutFax customers may now customize the "Station ID"/message header information which appears on a given fax machine and/or on the top (or sometimes bottom) of a faxed page. Thus, it is now possible to put your own company name, fax number, and/or voice contact number on the top of each fax which you send out. An "Interpage" or blank ID is also available. Please feel free to contact us for more details on any of the above service enhancements, or any other aspect of Interpage's current service offerings.
