I N T E R P A G E (TM) Network Services Inc. ============================================================================ Service Update, Monday, December 18th, 1995 [] E-Mail "Faxes" to your WWW Account for viewing, delayed sending & storage [] Connect to Interpage and SEND mail from your account -------------------------------------- Hello! [] E-Mail to WWW: Interpage customers may now send e-mail messages directly to their FaxUp(sm) WWW accounts. If you have ever needed to store a series of faxes somewhere so that you could select online a set of faxes to send out when the need arises and then have them instantly transmitted to any number of recipients, then Interpage's new addition to our FaxUp WWW service should be of interest to you! FaxUp WWW allows users with WWW browsers to view, store, edit, and append notes to faxes which have been uploaded directly, via EPOS, or now, via e-mail. All Interpage customers with monthly accounts of $10 or more are automatically given FaxUp WWW accounts which have e-mail uploading enabled. In order to send a "fax" via e-mail to your FaxUp WWW account, you should use the same procedure that current InFax(sm) and OutFax(sm) customers use when sending out faxes to remote fax machines. That is: -->To send a regular text file to be stored for viewing, faxing, etc: send mail to: -config@interpage.net Subject: fax save -->To send a postscript file (non-attachment) to your FaxUp WWW account: send mail to: -config@interpage.net Subject: fax -postscript save In a few momments, your e-mail messages will be converted to fax format, and you will be able to view them online with Netscape, Mosaic, etc. -->To access our FaxUp WWW service, use your WWW browser and connect to: http://www.interpage.net You may click on the descriptive paragraph outlining the FaxUp WWW service, or go to the bottom of the page and click on the FaxUp URL. In either case, you will then be presented with a "pop-up" dialog box which will ask you for your username and password. You should use the same username and password which you do when you log in to the system via telnet. (If you do not know your username and/or password, please give us a call or send e-mail and we will supply it for you.) Once you have properly accessed your FaxUp WWW account, you will be presented with a menu of fax messages. You may select to view your faxes, rename them, e-mail them as a UUENCODED graphics file to someone else, or send them as a fax (you may select which pages to send, to add a cover sheet, or to add a note). A variety of other options are available; please call us at +1 (617) 696-8000 or e-mail "support@interpage.net" for details. There are no additional charges to upload e-mail originated messages to our FaxUp service. You will only incur additional charges when a fax is sent from your FaxUp WWW directory to another fax machine, in which case, your given per-minute fax rate will apply (for most customers, this is 25 cents per minute to anywhere in the US, other international rates apply outside of the US). ------------------------------------------ [] Send E-Mail from your Interpage Account All Interpage customers who have access to a program on their local system called "telnet" may now connect with Interpage's system and send mail to other Internet users. Customers who use Netscape and other Web Browsers may also be able to run the telnet option from within their browser to connect with their Interpage mail accounts. Interpage's telnet interface has allowed users to log on remotely and access information about their accounts, send out pages to themselves and others, configure their fax and paging options, and read mail online as a backup to their primary mail location. In response to your requests for service enhacements, we have also added the ability to SEND e-mail from any given user's telnet account, just as you would from any other internet-based e-mail account. However, by using your Interpage account to send mail, people who reply to you will reply to Interpage *directly*. Depending on your paging schedule, this will allow you to be paged more rapidly to benefit from not having to use the Interpage Remailer in order to have replies sent to your Interpage account. All users may access their telnet mail by: telnet interpage.net ...and entering their username and password. (If you do not recall your user information, please call or e-mail "support@interpage.net" and we will be glad to supply you with it.) There is no additional charge to send e-mail messages from your Interpage Telnet account. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- We encourage all Interpage users to explore these new features! Please fell free to call us or send mail if you have any questions or comments. Thank you for your continued support of Interpage NSI!
