I N T E R P A G E (TM) Network Services Inc. ============================================================================ Service Update, Weds, January 3, 1996 [] Set paging Options from the WWW [] Unlimited Operator Dispatch Beta -------------------------------------- Hello, and Happy New Year! As Interpage enters the new year, we'd like to announce the availability of two new services which should continue the tradition which we (hopefully :) ) established in 1994 of providing innovative, high-quality services and reasonable prices. ----------------------------- [] Paging Options via the WWW: A number of our customers, especially those on Compuserve and America Online, have repeatedly mentioned to us that a program called "telnet", which allows users of one system to connect to another system via the Internet, is not available to them. Since a good deal of Interpage's "configurability" is prefaced upon our users being able to connect with the system 24-hours a day, we felt that we needed to provide alternate access to our "Telnet Menu" for customers who were not able to "telnet on" to our system. Initially, we developed a concurrent e-mail interface which allows for limited changes to be made to a given account, such as Page Holding and setting reminder pagers. However, this proved cumbersome for some of the more complex "Telnet Menu" features. As a result, we developed, and are continuing to develop, a WWW Configurations Menu, which we hope will ultimately afford the WWW user the same degree of flexbility and options which our current Telnet Menu offers. Currently, Interpage customers may set their alpha and/or numeric paging options via any one of the more current WWW browsers. Access to text-only WWW browsers such as Lynx is also supported. Guests may also view the current range of pager/paging settings, although they may not make any changes. To view/configure pager settings, Interpage customers should point their WWW browsers to "http://www.interpage.net" and click on "Configure your personal pager settings directly from the WWW!" (Currently the second "new" item.) A "Customer Link" is also available at the Customer Links sub-menu towards the end of our main page. Changes can be made by clicking on the desired option and selecting the appropriate setting from the "pull-down" menus which are presented. In some cases, you may be required to enter text instructions, and these are designated by a text-entry box or field. Over the next few months, Interpage will continue to add more features and enhancements to its WWW page to mirror the functionality of our current Telnet Menu. In the meantime, please feel free to experiment with our new Pager Settings menu, and as always, feel free to call us or mail to "support@interpage.net" with any questions on how to use Interpage's new Pager Settings WWW Menu. ----------------------------------- [] Unlimited Operator Dispatch Beta: We will shortly be evaluating a new Alpha operator dispatch service which will be working with Interpage to provide low-cost, UNLIMITED use, 800 access, Operator to Text messaging for Alpha paging customers. We are looking for approximately 10 current customers who DO NOT have paging service through us who would be interested in testing this new service. If all goes well, we will make this available to all customers. We currently require 10 or so Beta testers who are willing to provide detailed feedback as to how the Dispatch Center interracts with their Alpha system, the speed of pages, how courteous the operators are, hold times, etc. The service promotes itself as "different" from other Operator/Alpha dispatch services, and despite positive first impressions, we would like to test the service out with a limited number of Interpage customers who use a variety of different services to thoroughly test the dispatch system. Interpage will charge $6.95 per month to customers who are interested in participating in this trial. If you are interested, please contact us via e-mail or call us directly. ------------------------- We hope you enjoy and make use of our growing WWW-based family of services and features, and hopefully, if our trials go well, we will shortly be able to offer unlimited operator dispatch as part of some of our package plans.
