Although current plans to rebuild the World Trade Center provide for an 
impressively tall 1,776 foot structure, the skyline of NYC will never be 
restored without the orignal towers of the WTC, and anything short of 
this goal will forever remain a tacit concession to those who destroyed 
them. 
 
I strongly support rebuilding the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center 
as per the proposals advanced by the architectural team of Kenneth 
Gardner and Herbert Belton.

The Freedom Tower is at best compromise to the exigencies of backroom 
politics and at worst a capitulation to those who attacked us, and it 
would be a shame if for the remainder of the 21s Century and others to 
follow, anything but a larger and better version of the Twin Towers is 
allowed to be built.

The American people are being swindled. The "Freedom Tower" has been 
rejected by both the market and the public, but taxpayer money was 
pledged to prop it up with government leases. Those leases have not been 
finalized and should not be.

Why are those in charge trying so hard to drive a square peg into a round 
hole when the most popular solution - new Twin Towers - would also be the 
easiest to achieve?

An inspiring World Trade Center that is dramatically better in every way 
could be completed by the tenth anniversary of 9/11, if we act decisively 
now. It is showcased at www.WTC2011.com and outperforms the current plan 
using every metric. 

We have a right to expect officials to respect our wishes. When they 
overrule us, we have a right to know what would compel them to do so.

A thorough examination of the trouble-plagued plan is now more necessary 
than ever.

It is time to stop acting as if the Twin Towers were just buildings. They 
were landmarks in every sense of the word and most people long to see 
them back in America's Skyline. It is time to remove whatever is standing 
in the way of that noble goal.

I would appreciate knowing your position on this matter and if you intend 
to be part of the solution or part of the problem.

We are all stakeholders in the future of "Ground Zero." Most American 
citizens are joined by first responders, 9/11 family members, 9/11 
survivors, construction workers, and members of the armed services in 
believing that the Towers should be rebuilt.
